Orangettes

Orangettes are delicious French sweets. They are thin strips of candied orange peel coated in dark chocolate. To make orangettes, the orange peel is first blanched to remove the bitterness, then cooked in a sugar syrup to candy it. Once candied, the orange peel strips are dipped in melted chocolate and left to harden. The combination of the bright, tangy flavour of the orange and the sweetness of the chocolate is simply divine.
Orangettes are often served with coffee or tea, but can also be enjoyed at the end of a meal for a sweet finish.
